Riddle Co. Design Self-described as "Designers and Makers of Metal Lamps, Vellumesque Shades, Gift Novelties, and Lighting Fixtures," the Edward N Riddle Lighting Company of Toledo, Ohio hit its stride in light manufacturing in the 1920's, though they have been around since 1892. One of their popular products were "estofado" frames, which are a Spanish-inspired method of applying primary colors to virgin metals for an antique effect. Really we call it Polychrome!  Additionally, the company called their products "fitments" in advertisements to convince their customers that they would be easy to install and uninstall to fit their design preferences over the years. Regardless of the validity of that claim, they were certainly well-sought after for the quality of their fitments.

We find that early antique lighting was designed as objects of art and we treat each fixture with careful attention to preserve original beauty. Our fixtures are cleaned, rewired, and restored & are ready to hang, following UL standards. We can work with you on code requirements.

Shipping $50.00 Fully Insured within the continental United States. International shipping also available. Please contact us for a quote.
