late 19th century arts & crafts gas electric dome fixture
AA# 45780
This original converted gas/electric has a quality of craftsmanship that is quite unique and is a great transitional piece with just the right amount of ornamentation. It was created during the time when ‘dome’ fixtures were all the rage, and is designed to provide both ambient and direct lighting. Six candles with fluted cast brass cups and bobeches, mount to a thick brass band that is decorated with simple rope detail, illuminating the outside of the fixture. Within the panels of green slag glass, is six-light cluster body, intact with its original brass ‘bryant’ sockets. It has been converted to all electric and completely rewired.
