The legend of the prairie window starts on a wIde open bright prairie space and the desire to add some color to the clear glass looking out on that bright prairie. Just a touch of color, because colored glass was so much more than clear.
As The prairie glass window made its way to urban places and spaces it changed. Stylized & presented differently in each window by creative, artistic architects and designers over the decades.
But what hasn’t changed is the carrying of the banner, the simple prairie flower. Was it the memory of total beauty in seeing of a smudge of color against a sea of the same.
Maybe over the generations that Prairie Flower is seen differently within the changing design movements, but if you look you will find that simple prairie flower there.
