Dunbar originated as a manufacturer of fine horse drawn buggies but then transitioned to furniture production during the introduction of automobiles. This mantel is designed with Neo-classical elements from the flanking Doric columns to the triple Greek meander in the mantels front. Beautiful grain and knots give this mantel such a warm quality, perfect for any rustic and cozy traditional space. The top of the mantel is worn from its 100 year lifetime. The back of the mantel still has the original manufacturing tag and each of the back of the columns has written “use with shorter columns.” See photos for details.
