This impressive library was salvaged from a manse located next to the Trinity United Presbyterian Church in Uniontown, PA. At the time that the manse was first built in 1908, Uniontown boasted of 13 millionaires, which was the most per capita of any city in the United States. The wealth came from the booming industry of coal and coke that brought fame and fortune to the town during the late 19th and early 20th century. The manse, nicknamed "Trinity House" in the 1960's after ministers no longer lived there, was also a reflection of the money in Uniontown in those days. The stickers adorning this library are evidence that later in its life it was used by the Daughters of the American Revolution, a group promoting historic preservation, education, and patriotism.
