The sacrarium exemplifies the serious nature of holy water and its use in the church. This basin would have had its own separate plumbing that would have disposed holy water directly into the earth. The aluminum top and lock secure the sanctity of the holy water by preventing contamination from non-blessed water. It is a simple design, a porcelain base with aluminum top and stamped cross. Standard is the brand as shown by the makers mark in the photo below.
