Made by the Frink Corporation of New York, this mirror has a highly decorative iron frame with floral medallions and details that harnesses light to illuminate the reflection. From 1887, I.P. Frink was revered as ‘among the greatest lighting specialists in the country', especially at the advent of incandescent lighting. The firm made illumination a science by developing ways to control diffusion through a series of reflective surfaces. Frink’s goal and mastery was creating a harmonious environment that would eliminate the chances of eye strain or fatigue This mirror is an elegant and important example of Frink lighting.
