Door knob sets with 2 cut crystal knobs featuring a starburst pattern and spindle. This unique design by Russell & Erwin Mfg Co of New Britain, Connecticut was patented in 1886 and has a 2-prong insert to connect the spindle, rather than set screws.

As pioneers in the wrought steel lock industry, Russell & Erwin were known for crisply cast and stunningly elegant designs. Formed in 1839 as Stanley, Russell & Company, it did not become Russell & Erwin until 1846. In 1902, they merged with P & F Corbin to form the American Hardware Corporation, which is now part of the Swedish conglomerate ASSA ABLOY.
