Handsomely crafted Welsbach Company Reflex No. 6 sconce made of lovely brass. Features a decorative gas valve giving this sconce a very unique look.

From 1896 through 1940, the Welsbach Company manufactured incandescant gas mantles. The name "Welsbach" came from Dr. Carl Auer von Welsbach (1858 to 1929) of Austria. He invented the incandescent mantle which was used in early gas lighting.

We find that early antique lighting was designed as objects of art and we treat each fixture with careful attention to preserve original beauty. Our fixtures are cleaned, rewired & are ready to hang, following UL standards. We can work with you on code requirements.
