Markel Mfg. was established in Buffalo, NY in the 1920’s. Its founder, Joseph Markel, was born in Lithuania and moved to the US in 1891. Markel Mfg. operated through the 1950’s, and the company was one of the foremost manufacturers of quality art deco lighting. Their unique and influential designs are still valued by collectors today.

We find that early antique lighting was designed as objects of art and we treat each fixture with careful attention to preserve original beauty. Our fixtures are cleaned, rewired & are ready to hang, following UL standards. We can work with you on code requirements.
