Edward F. Caldwell & Co. known then & now as the premier lighting designer and manufacturer. It was their high quality lighting fixtures of bronze, iron, silver, brass, and copper from the late 19th century to the mid 20th century. Excelling in the creation historically-inspired fixtures that were adapted for electric technology. Visionaries of their design & significance fixture were archived with photographs as produced, the Smithsonian Institution is now home to the E.F. Caldwell & Co. archives, with over 50,000 images, 37,000 photographs and 13,000 original design drawings. Caldwell pieces can still be found in a number of esteemed locales, including Rockefeller Center, the Andrew Carnegie residence, and the White House & Architectural Antiques.
