These majestic cast bronze pulls are replicas of the entry pulls of the Charles Gates Mansion, completed in 1913. Like many tycoons of the time, Gates made his money in railroads and oil. It didn't hurt, either, that his father, John Warne Gates, was an early promoter of barbed wire, later going on to start his own manufacturing company. The Renaissance Revival home was constructed of the finest materials money could buy and is rumored to be equipped with the nation's first air conditioning system. The design of this hardware is based on the popular mythical symbol, the serpent. You are able to see the exciting scene of serpents peering through the surface of the wavy ocean on this pair of pulls. Crafted by a local Minnesota artisan, this set of hardware is incredibly well made and sure to be a conversation starter when you have visitors!
