This clock was salvaged from the University of Minnesota’s Walter Library by architect Clarence H. Johnston Sr. who also designed other buildings on campus. In the photos below you can see this clock where it sat in the library in 1924. It features an over-sized open face with Roman numeral numbers. Fleur-de-lis are on both arms and the wall mount is a beautiful eight petal flower. It is all brass but the metal thickness varies from the thin arms to the cast wall mount and heaviness of the double ring with the numerals. These clocks are in great condition with almost no show of their age!
This clock is the real deal, so many home goods stores today have reproductions of this same type of over-sized open clock. Don’t miss your chance to own the genuine thing!
