These heavy cast brass Neoclassical sconces are wonderfully unique and feature beautiful decorations throughout!  The elegant, delicate floral decoration on the center of the body along with other organic, curving design elements balance out the heavy geometric shape and design of the two arms very nicely. The shades feature a Greek key pattern that matches the arms, tying everything together.

*Please note that the above price is for one sconce. However, they are sold as a pair.

These sconces were taken from the Virginia Theatre in St. Louis, MO. The theatre was built around 1910 and, like these fixtures, has Neoclassical and Beaux Arts design elements. In its heyday, the Virginia Theatre served as the neighborhood theatre for many families. Beginning in the 1950s, movie theatre attendance began to decline, the advent of television changing consumer attitudes drastically. Since its closing in 1956, the building has fallen into neglect and has failed to be restored or repurposed. However, pieces of this significant building and historical era remain in rescued artifacts, such as this pair of sconces.
