This sconce is one of a kind! Its dramatic backplate features floral and leaf imagery and is framed by two simple candles. Make any space beautiful with this Oscar Bach original.

Oscar B Bach was one of the most celebrated metalwork artists of the early 20th century. Born in Germany in 1884, he began his career in Berlin, during which time he made an ornate, jewel encrusted Bible cover for Pope Leo XIII and won the Grand Prix at the World’s Exposition in Turin for a bed designed for Kaiser Wilhelm II. Not a bad way to start a career!

After moving to New York in 1911, his work became well-known amongst the elite, with commissions from the likes of Andrew Carnegie and John Sargent Pillsbury. Bach’s designs ranged from Arts & Crafts to Gothic to Tudor Revival, and often included elements of mythology, Italianate and Germanic grotesque, and scrolling grapevines.
